my take on the news

Smoking banned in coffeeshops from next year onwards. What the hell? Like that, might as well ban cigarette sales altogether! But of course, cannot. Gahmen needs tobacco tax revenue. Sorry, dudes. You can't have your cake and still eat it. I predict lots of heartlander uncles are gonna vote against PAP in the next election!

Real Madrid buys Brazilian strikers Baptista and Robinho, which means Owen's place is at risk. They rejected Arsenal and Chelsea respectively. Speaking of the Gunners, I watched them beat Ajax 1-0 in the Amsterdam Tournament yesterday morning. Alexander Hleb looks like a quality signing. He dribbled brilliantly before setting up youngster Arthuro Lupoli's goal. Flamini and Pires combined well in central midfield. Who needs Vieira?

It is a strategy for the PAP to perform badly when a new Prime Minister takes over...

So that his record looks good at the end of his Premiership.

Remember SM Goh also lost a lot of constituencies during his 1st Elections? And PAP got the lowest vote that year.

GCT lost because they underestimated the importance of the heartlanders. I don't think they did it on purpose. They made a mistake and subsequently corrected it.

Is that right? Man, I've not been reading/watching the news. Good for me I guess. I really like eating at coffeeshops and hanging around to read stuff. But sometimes just can't siam second-hand smoke, which I don't enjoy (the smell).

As for the Gunners, I hope Pires stay. $ talk aside, he's quality and lets his feet do the talking most of the time. Any squad needs a fair number of old heads with experience, and we're talking about a World Cupper and France 1st eleven contender (as long as he's on talking terms with the French boss!) here.
